About me

Inês trained in Lisbon and Bali and is known for finding the knot you did not know you had. She joined Spavelly in its second year and now leads our massage team, training every new therapist in the slow, unhurried way we work.

My approach

I start every session by asking where you hold your stress, then I watch how you breathe once you are on the table. Deep tissue does not have to hurt. I work slowly, wait for the muscle to let go and only then go a little deeper. Most guests leave feeling taller and lighter, not sore.

Training and background

I studied massage therapy in Lisbon, then spent two years in Bali learning traditional Balinese massage and warm stone work. Before Spavelly I worked with a cycling team, which is where my love for sports massage and recovery began. I still take a new course every year, most recently in myofascial release.

Outside the studio

You will find me walking by the river in Belém most mornings, or testing new oil blends at home with rosemary and orange from my mother's garden in Sintra.
